Welcome to the Chaparral Boys Basketball Program website, sponsored by the Chaparral Basketball Booster Club. You will find the majority of information you will need to follow Chaparral basketball on this website. Please let us know it other information would be helpful.
The purpose of the Chaparral Boys Basketball Booster Club is to provide the support necessary for the basketball players and coaches to have a positive experience participating in Chaparral basketball.
We hold fundraisers (Golf Tournament Sept. 18, 2008, Raffles, Free Throw Shoots, etc.) and we are pleased to thank sponsors with acknowledgement on Banners and recognition available on gym score boards as well as this website. Donations received pay for athletic equipment, uniforms, training, tournaments, summer leagues, transportation, lodging, facility improvements and may other costs that the school cannot afford due to budget restraints
We also provide Game Day lunches for the teams, and solicit and coordinate parent involvement for the may volunteer hours needed to support a successful and competitive basketball program
Our parent support has been outstanding. All parent player families have joined the Booster Club for 4 straight seasons. Attendance at our parent events continues to be outstanding.
Our 2005-2006 basketball season was one to remember. The team went 24-5, won the Desert Sky Region, and made it to the state semi-finals at Glendale Arena. The 2006- 2007 Varsity team made it to the State Tournament losing to Apollo High, the ultimate State Champion in 4A-1.
The 2007/2008 year was particularly significant in that we played our entire home game schedule in our brand new main gym, which was dedicated in November 2007. The 2008/2009 year should prove to be exciting with 4 returning varsity players, a new coaching staff and all new varsity uniforms. Please join us in supporting the basketball teams by participating as Booster Club Members and attending our 18 regular season games and Holiday tournaments.
I would like to thank past and current Board members for their hard work and support to enable us to fulfill our mission as an organization. Additionally, thanks again to all of our parents, families and Firebird friends.
